It's working!

Here's my first video released on Youtube of my LLP setup. And that rocks!
I still can't project the image on my acrylic under my fingers because I'm waiting for stuffs from China like IR filter and infrared LEDs. I didn't know China was that far!

I have to go to Paris the next for 2 weeks for freelancing so I'll can't continue before I come back. Wait and see!

Google Sketchup 3D Model

Today I made a 3D model of the setup.
Here is the result.

Thanks to that, I realised some details I didn't think before as dimension stuffs.

New PC and modified XBOX Live Vision webcam!

Still waiting for the IR LEDs from China to be able to start building the frame, I bought and assembled a powerfull new PC:
- Intel Quad Core Q9550 @ 2.83Ghz
- 2Go DDR3 OCZ
- Motherboard ASUS P5E3
- HD Raptor 10000 tr/min

I also bought an XBOX webcam because it's cheap and very good with its 30FPS at 640x480 resolution specs. I had to open it to remove the IR filter wich was quite easy.

As you can see on the last picture, the webcam can see the the IR rays coming from my TV remote. This is my first blob!! Yeahh!!

To be continued...

Here we go

I'm officialy starting today my multitouch setup project!
I'd like to thanks all the Nuigroup community to share their work. It's a great oportunity to be able to work on this kind of project, and it wouldn't be possible without your great frame of mind.

I choosed to build a FTIR type of 80x60cm (4/3).
Waiting for stuffs coming from Asia like the infrared LEDs, I began to cut the piece of plexiglass I bought in store, with a metal saw. I also sanded the 4 sizes. About 4 hours of work. Thx to Aymeric for his help!

The result:

Yes it's just a beginning :D
